Our History
Diagnostic Pathology was organized in 1987. Since that time, Diagnostic Pathology has evolved into a practice with three board certified Pathologists, Dr. Edward Proctor, Jr., Dr. Charles Walls, Jr., and Dr. Melanie (Lesa) Hopkins. These pathologists are all board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as subspecialty certification with Dr. Proctor certified in Forensic Pathology, Dr. Walls in Dermatopathology, and Dr. Hopkins in Cytopathology.

Our Pathology group is at the cutting edge of pathology and incorporates prognostic and diagnostic studies to include state-of-the-art molecular techniques through send out testing such as:
- Flow Cytometry
- Cytogenetics
- DNA Analysis
We are active participants in Tumor Board and Cancer Committee with review of new cancer cases to include staging. These are discussed in regular meetings of the Cancer Committee and Tumor Board to help provide a multidisciplinary approach to cancer diagnosis and treatment for all cancer patients.

- Doctors availability
- Client Service Rep working with each practices needs
- Providing clients with supplies needed for gynecological and non-gynecological specimen collections
- Notification by phone on all high grade paps and new malignancies
- Daily courier pick up and delivery service
- Providing requisitions (surgical and cytology)
- Couriers deliver final reports daily to clients
